MIGRATIONS
(working title)
Traveling and migrating is not allowed to one of the makers who is precluded to cross European borders since she has been denied a visa multiple times. The desire to respond to this political situation with an artistic and metaphysical elaboration results in a work in progress happening simultaneously in Rotterdam and Istanbul.
The extended version of the work aims to find an entrance and transition to the vertical axis. Aware that this is a paradoxical achievement it still sets a direction that heightens the purpose of existence.
Ile Sen Ay Avec Toi, with their research Migrations, aims to create a performance that is an unfolding question about existential journeys. Siva Canbazoglu, Claudio Murabito and Noemi Calzavara question their migratory experiences as one of the evolutionary practices of the restless being on the quest for harmony. On this journey they have identified two axes of physical and metaphysical motion; the horizontal which is traveling through materiality, and the vertical which is ascending towards oneness, invisibility, beyond comprehension and silence.
A work in progress of this performance has been presented at the Festival Anima Flegrea 2023 in Italy and at Garage Cafè #2.3 in Rotterdam.
